Overview
Dubai International Chamber Office – Ethiopia has been regularly participating in regional trade and investment platforms, promoting Dubai and identifying bilateral business and economic opportunities. In September 2018 the Ethiopia office had a soft relaunch and the activities of the office have since then increased with a new strategy and the economic outlook of the country. Since the relaunch, the office is reengaging and building a strong network of government and private sector contacts to provide our members and Ethiopian companies outstanding support which includes:

Connecting the Dots Series: Business Insights to Global Markets
The Mozambique and Ethiopia Offices were invited to speak at UAE Africa Networking Group “Connecting The Dots” Series Business Insights to Global Markets. The aim was to discuss opportunities the be realized due to covid.
Launching Ceremony of Ethiopia’s Participation at EXPO 2020 Dubai
The aim of the event was to raise awareness among Ethiopians at the national level, Ethiopian medias, government and private sectors about Ethiopia’s participation at Expo 2020 Dubai and showcase the pavilion.
Building a Bridge to Prosperity Forum
The event was held in partnership with the UAE Embassy in Ethiopia supported by Ministry of Trade, Center for Accelerated Women’s Economic Empowerment (CAWEE), Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce as well as different government and private sectors. During the event an MoU was signed between Dubai Chamber and Women Empowerment Accelerator CAWEE, to help strengthen the role of women in entrepreneurs in Ethiopia.
UAE – Ethiopia Business Forum and Ethiopia International Trade Exhibition
UAE – Ethiopia Business Forum was held on 20th March 2019 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The event was organized and hosted by UAE Ministry of Economy in support of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ethiopia and Dubai Chamber International Office – Ethiopia. Dubai Chamber Ethiopia was a support partner and played a big role to ensure success of the event and received and appreciation award from the UAE Ministry of Economy.
UAE Business Advisory Council Meeting 2
As part of the ongoing effort to enhance the ease of doing business in Ethiopia, the council met with representatives from different government, private and international institution that, have direct or indirect impacts on UAE investment in Ethiopia and met with investors and answered their questions as a one stop shop. This included the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, National Bank of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Investment Commission, Oromia Investment Commission, Emirates Airlines, Fly Dubai and others.
Established the UAE-Ethiopia Business Advisory Council
The UAE-Ethiopia Business Advisory Council was established to Streamline the investment process for UAE Investors and Ethiopian Entrepreneurs. The council serves as a one stop shop to identify issues and create means for sustainable solutions.
Women Investors Roundtable
The Event focused on Ethiopian women investors was held to help identify challenges women investors face. Mr. Ahmed Albwadi Head of Political, Economic and Media Affairs Section of the UAE Embassy gave a speech and his support and commitment to help women entrepreneurs
Relaunch of Office and FDI Roundtable
The breakfast event was held to relaunch the Dubai Chamber office under a new office head followed by a FDI Roundtable to economic corporation between UAE and Ethiopia.
