The 4th Cycle of the MRM Business Innovation Award

The start of the 4th Cycle of the MRM Business Innovation Award will be announced soon across the Dubai Chamber social media channels.


How to Apply

Irrespective of the country of origin, all sizes and types of organizations based, and with current activity, in the UAE or any of the GCC countries are welcome to participate in the MRM Business Innovation Award.

The first step is to submit the online Pre-Application Form where companies can express their interest to participate in the Award. After the Pre-Application Form is submitted online, the Award Unit will evaluate if the applicant company meets the eligibility criteria to qualify for the Award Program and revert back to the company with its feedback.


Eligibility Criteria

In order to participate, organizations are required to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a for-profit and private organization.
  • Must be operating in the UAE or any of the GCC countries for the last three years.
  • Must hold a valid Operating License from the UAE or GCC country where the company is based.

All sizes and types of local, regional and international organizations with current activity in the UAE and any of the GCC countries are welcome to participate and compete for the Award.

Because the number of participants is limited, organizations are approved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Exclusions:

Groups or Holding companies are not eligible to participate as a whole. However, individual companies from the Group or Holding are welcome to participate separately.


Fees

All eligible companies who have been approved to participate are required to pay the associated fees:

  • AED 2,100 if your Company is a Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Member.
  • AED 2,625 if your Company is not a Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Member.

(Fees are including 5% VAT which is applicable to all companies in the UAE & GCC)

Kindly Note: The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

The fee enables companies to participate in the MRM Business Innovation Award Program and includes:

Groups or Holding companies are not eligible to participate as a whole. However, individual companies from the Group or Holding are welcome to participate separately.

  • Award Application Package (Award Criteria Manual and Award Application Submission Document).
  • Clarifications and support during the application submission, including roundtable discussion.
  • Desk Assessment and Site Visit Assessment.
  • Feedback Report.
  • Attendance at the Award Ceremony.
  • For winners only – Award recognition with all the associated media coverage.

Kindly Note: Only the companies who submit the Award Application Document are eligible for the Desk & Site Visit Assessment and Feedback Report. The Site Visit Assessment is only for companies who meet the defined threshold in the Desk Assessment. The above fees do not include the training sessions, which are not mandatory but comes with our highest recommendations.


Award Program Phases and Schedule

The Award Program consists of 7 phases, namely:

In order to participate, companies are required to register at the Dubai Chamber website and submit a valid Operating License, Company Profile and Organizational Chart. The MRM Award Office will review all the information and companies who meet the eligibility criteria will be requested to pay the associated participation fee. Once the payment is completed, the company becomes a participant of the Award Program and receives by email the Award Application Package with the Award Manual and Application Document. Because the number of participants is limited, Companies are strongly advised to register at the earliest to secure participation. Companies are approved on a first-come, first-served basis and the pre-application phase deadline can be subject to change without prior-notice.

In order to ensure continuing participation, companies must submit their final Award Application document to the MRM Award Office until the given deadline. Application documents submitted after the deadline will not be considered and companies’ participation in the Award will be cancelled

A team of independent, local and international Assessors who are seasoned professionals from the private sector review the Award Applications in teams of two. Each team conducts a thorough assessment of each application document and score according to the criteria of the Business Award Model. (desk assessment score)

Participant companies who meet or exceed the required desk assessment score threshold are eligible for the site visit assessment. The assessors visit the company’s main office to conduct a comprehensive site visit assessment and finally rescore the company according to their findings during the visit. The assessor’s shortlist and propose outperforming companies to the Award Panel of Judges. (site visit assessment score)

An international and independent panel of Judges, chaired by H. E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, reviews and endorses the proposed list of winners. H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, issues the final decision and names the winners to be recognized at the Award Ceremony.

Alongside all the participant companies, distinguished local and international executives and business owners as well as business excellence leaders partake in the Award Ceremony to recognize and celebrate the Award winners who exhibited exceptional performance.

Each participant company receives a comprehensive Feedback Report developed by the assessors. Their input is based on their assessment of the application findings, as well as the site visit findings for those who qualified for the visit. The feedback report is a roadmap apparatus to assist participants in acknowledging the areas where they are excelling organizationally, as well as addressing areas with opportunities for improvement.
