About the Event
The amendments to the provisions of UAE Commercial Transactions Law came into effect in January 2022. The decriminalization of bounced cheques was one of the key changes made to enhance the dynamics of business transactions and revitalize commercial dealings.

Partner - Ince
Rita is highly experienced in advising clients on transactional, corporate and commercial law across a variety of sectors and has a keen interest in renewable energy, construction and
projects. Her practice spans across a broad range of areas, including national and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, franchising and financing. She regularly
advises clients on all aspects of UAE laws, including free zones, regulatory compliance,
corporate governance, breaches of confidentiality, white-collar crime, cross-border fraud, cyber-policies and cybercrime. In addition to Rita’s transactional work, her experience also extends to advising clients on contentious matters relating to a range of industries but
specifically major projects.
Jeetendra Wadhwani
Vice President of Financial Restructuring & Remedial - Emirates NBD
Jeetendra is Vice President of Financial Restructuring & Remedial at Emirates NBD. His role involves overseeing a large portfolio of work out accounts based out of UAE, including international locations of London, Singapore & India. Jeetendra has been in his current role for 10+ years and has been a key figure in creating and building of the work out unit of the bank, which is now recognized by the market and acts as lead on a number of high-profile restructurings. Jeetendra started his career in 1995 in the aviation industry, prior to moving to Banking in 2005. He has over 25+ years’ experience working in various roles covering Strategic
Planning, Business Analysis, Remedial & Restructuring. Jeetendra has been in the region for 22 years. He has an MBA majoring in Strategy from Strathclyde Business School (UK).
Ahmed Elfouli
Associate - Ince
Ahmed is a bilingual English qualified associate and advises on a wide range of commercial contracts including joint ventures and sale and purchase agreements from both UAE and UK law perspectives. He also advises on M&A deals, including the drafting, reviewing and amending of share and asset purchase agreements, disclosure letters and negotiating with counterparties up to and including completion.
