Overview
Since its inception in 2015, the Dubai International Chamber Office in Ghana has been fostering close trade and commerce activities between Ghana and the UAE. The office has assisted numerous local and Dubai based businesses and individuals with information on trade and doing business in Dubai and in Ghana.
The mandate of the office in Ghana is to gather market information and to facilitate bilateral opportunities between Dubai and West Africa. To do this, we offer a variety of services that helps to promote and represent Dubai in Ghana and other West African countries, as well as attract promising companies to Dubai. Activities
AfCFTA and Business Opportunities with UAE
The Ghana office together with the other African International Offices of Dubai Chamber organized this webinar in partnership with Absa Group and Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). The aim of the webinar was to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on Africa’s economy, AfCFTA post Covid impact and trade and investment opportunities with UAE. We had 602 delegates registered and attended by 342 delegates from 40 countries.
Benefits of Doing Business in Dubai Series
The Ghana office in collaboration with the other African offices organized a series of webinars on Doing Business in Dubai. The webinar was organized in partnership with Bizzmosis on the themes; “Did You Know NOW is the Right Time to Do Business in Dubai”, “Take the Fear out, Ask your questions” and “Guidance on Freelancing, Opening a Bank Account and Residency Visas”. In total, over 500 delegates attended from over 60 countries in total.
Arab Health Trade Mission and Congress 2020
The Ghana office led an 11-member delegation to participate in the Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai. As part of the mission the office organized a networking session as well as site visits to NAFFCO and Thumbay Teaching Hospital.
Future Energy Nigeria Conference & Exhibition
The Ghana office exhibited at the Nigeria Future Energy exhibition & conference which brought together leading utility and regulatory companies from the region and it focused on tackling the pertinent metering issues affecting the West African power sector. The UAE Ambassador to Nigeria visited the Chamber’s stand all the way from Abuja.
Islamic Banking & Finance Forum
The Islamic Banking & Finance Forum was organized by the Ghana office to discuss the state of Islamic banking in Ghana as well as existing legislation which supports Islamic banking in Ghana. In attendance was the UAE Ambassador to Ghana, top academia in Islamic Banking and Government representatives
Real Estate Potential in Ghana and Dubai
The Ghana office organized a round table discussion on the real estate potential for both Dubai and Ghana. The event brought together stakeholders in the Real Estate industry to discuss and share ideas on how industry challenges can be resolved to enhance the general attractiveness of the industry between Ghana and Dubai.
Ghana- UAE Trade Mission
The Ghana office in partnership with Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and the UAE Embassy in Ghana hosted a 15-member delegation of UAE companies led by the Undersecretary of Economy of UAE. The mission was to understand current market trends common to UAE and Ghana and aligned businesses in Ghana with those in UAE
Study Mission to Dakar, Senegal
The Ghana office embarked on a study mission to Senegal aimed at enhancing trade relations between Senegalese and Dubai based businesses, as well as with public sector institutions. In all 15 meetings were held with Government Ministers and Heads of Government Institutions.
AIM Congress & Trade Mission
The Ghana office led a 35-member trade mission delegation to take part in the Annual Investment Meeting Congress and Trade Mission from Ghana. Dubai Chamber organized 173 B2B meetings between the delegates and Dubai companies. The Chamber also hosted Ghana’s Minister of Agriculture, Ghana’s Ambassador to the UAE, Consul General, CEO of GIPC and the delegates to a dinner reception.
